Tabique walls, a light timber structure – constructive details and material characterization

This document aims to give additional contribution into the study of tabique walls, a light timber wall existing in old constructions Portugal, and for which there is still lack information. work includes an inspection campaign on 11 buildings located at historic centre Portuguese city Viseu. The information obtained allowed create databases constituent elements constructive details these traditional may guidance understand overall behaviour elements. Moreover, collection samples timber, mortar metallic connectors carrying out laboratory tests determine their physical mechanical properties, contributing better global knowledge walls.
